HIP DIAPER BAG
I love the messenger style and the choice of colors for the duo diaper bags from Skip Hop. They are fun, hip and most important practical. My advice:always go for dark colors. I won't say why! You can check their collection at Skip Hop

FUN READ FOR FUTURE DADS
Pregnant Man is a great book. I read it while pregnant with our first child, and then gave it to my skeptical husband, who actually got some much-needed reassurance from it--and a few chuckles along the way. It's a great gift for the future father (first time around) who's probably freaking out just a wee bit.

BEST NURSING PILLOW
My Baby’s Nest™ is the first "hands-free" nursing pillow system, featuring a safety ridge that helps prevent baby from rolling away and that holds baby securely in the correct nursing position. It is the first nursing pillow system made of PBDE free foam, and it comes with a hypoallergenic cotton flannel cover.
Available at My Baby's Nest

BABY CARRIER
Like a lot of my friends, I got a Baby Bjorn for my first child, Zoë. She was pretty heavy at birth, and I couldn't carry her for too long in the Baby Bjorn. My back couldn't take it. I found the Ergo Baby Carrier after having my second child and was happily surprised. I could carry my son for a much longer period of time without having shoulder and back pain. It's easy to use on your front and back (though it can be a little hard putting your baby on your back by yourself). And it's comfortable for the parent by distributing baby's weight between your hips and shoulders, while supporting the baby's anatomy with its ergonomic design. It was created by a mom, Karin Frost, who designed the carrier for her son, born in 2001. Ergo Baby Carrier is a family-owned and operated company located in Maui, Hawaii, where Karin and her family practice the Aloha Spirit. Check it out at Ergo Baby Carrier.

BABY LINENS
Simple, fun design without the pink bunnies or cutesie ducks. All in 100% combed Egyptian cotton. We have the pale blue, adult version for our bedroom, and we love it. You can find a great selection of Dwell Baby Dots and Stripes at Modern Seed.

BABY SLEEPING BAGS OR SLEEPSACKIn Europe, every baby has one of these. So I was very excited when I found these Baby Sleeping Bags from David Fussenegger. These wearable blankets stay on all night and keep your baby warm and cozy. They're always sleeveless to allow for proper air circulation around your baby and prevent possible overheating. Plus they have an easy-access zipper for those middle-of-the-night diaper changes. They also allow your baby to sleep easily on his or her back. They're at the very top of my list of Baby Things I Couldn't Live Without.

SWING
Compact is always good, and the Take Along swings from Fisher Price are great if you don't want your baby's gear to take over your space. Our son, Lucas, really enjoyed this model: he spent a lot of time swinging, sleeping, and eating in it. The compact design lets you easily carry baby from place to place. And other bells and whistles, like music and hanging toys, were a hit with our little guy.

LOUNGER
Let's face it, you're going to need one of these. Yet another great, modern design from Oeuf. Securely attached with the 3-point safety belt, the Baby Lounger is basically where your baby hangs out. Suitable for babies up to 18 lbs/9kg, the Oeuf lounger features a padded, machine-washable canvas seat that rests on its steel seat-frame. One size only, from birth until your child can sit up unassisted. Available at Modern Seed, a great resource for design-savvy parents.

STROLLERS
Choosing a stroller can be a daunting task. Look at your lifestyle and what you need in a stroller, and you'll probably end up with more than one. For overall use, we bought a Zooper and still love it. I really wanted a stroller that would be suitable from birth, and one that we could use for more than a year. So it's super-sturdy and practical. But the Zooper is also stylish and cool, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg (i.e., Bugaboo). For traveling, I really like our more streamlined and lightweight Mclaren; it's traveled to France multiple times, along with trips to countless states, and it's still doing the job. Click Here to check out Jogging Stroler, they have a great selection and terrific customer reviews to help you decide on the best stroller for you.
CRIBI wish the Oeuf crib was available a couple of years ago. Inspired by modern European aesthetics and Shaker simplicity, it's a beautifully crafted answer to the quickly changing needs of the nursery. The crib can be converted completely to a toddler bed with low rails, so your growing toddler can stick with his or her favorite horizontal hang-out. Available at Modern Tots

CAR SEAT
We still have a Roundabout from Britax for each of our toddlers, and we continue to love them. I wanted a car seat I could use from birth; I didn't want to have to buy more than I needed down the road. The Roundabout converts from rear-facing for infants (5 to 30 lbs.) to front-facing for toddlers (20 to 40 lbs.) They also have other models you may want to check out--like the Marathon, that goes up to 65 lbs. front-facing. Most important, Britax has one of the best safety records out there. And I love the "cowmooflage" cover pictured here; ours continues to hide dirt, juice, milk, and who-knows-what very well. Check out EliteCarSeats.com, they offer Free Shipping! Click Here
